Red crab

I woke up today with an image of a cute Red crab character. Does that happen to you, when all of a sudden you have this random character that you just got to draw? But, me bring me, instead of just drawing the genetic cute image of a cartoon crab, I went on to research Red crab anatomy, structure and looked at bunch of crab photos. They really are amazing creatures, and cute in real life too. I'm still honing in on that ability to honour real life creatures's structure with the simplified and cartoony features that will look both true to real life and at the same time super cute. But at some point you have to stop the sketching phase, solidify the design and move on to rendering. Here's the result. I used procreate for this artwork.
